‘LOVE IS IN THE AIR’ Sunday 14th February 2010

Come join us for our City Church Valentine’s Lunch on Sunday 14th February after our morning service. Give whoever cooks the Sunday lunch a day off and bring the whole family for a light lunch here at church celebrating the Real Love we know! We’re hoping to have McDonalds happy meals for the kids! This lunch has been organised to raise awareness for ‘Love for Life’ – a local charity that seeks to ‘influence change within society so that young people have a healthy respect for themselves, relationships and sex.’ An offering basket will be available for contributions towards the lunch and ‘Love for Life’ ministry.

A routine evening clean up at church was interrupted by one phone call from a church member. Working in race relations, she was trying alongside the police to help 20 Romanian families to cope with a rise in intimidation and attacks on their houses. By 7pm on 16 June, things went had gone from bad to worse and a request was made for City Church to house the families overnight.

We said yes.
