The Missions team at City Church exists to promote and encourage Jesus’ call for us to go out into all the world and make disciples. By definition this might be just around the corner, or it could be on the other side of the Earth. Our belief is that the Great Commission calls everyone in church. We hope that we can help work out what that involvement looks like by keeping everyone informed and offering opportunities to give and to go. It is our experience that partnership with groups who are already working in the countries and cultures in which we are seeking involvement bears most fruit. Currently City Church member Claire is serving in North Africa and Danielle Graham is serving on the ship ‘Logos Hope’ with Operation Mobilisation. In addition, Rowan Seymour is involved in medical development working for an N.G.O. in Rwanda. Short Term MissionRecently a small team from City Church led by Dave and Jill visited Asia to gain understanding of the area and the challenges posed in serving there. They prayerfully continue to seek guidance on what this means for service in the future. Short-term mission trips are an excellent way to serve, develop as a disciple and discover more about Gods’ call on your life. Teams are also welcomed at City Church to help us reach out into the community around our home. Most recently a team from The Barn in Johannesburg visited and helped with a community outreach. Talking to us at an early stage of your mission planning helps us to walk beside you effectively. City Church regularly gives to a Christian charity in North Africa committed to sharing the Word of God and alleviating hardship there.
