City Church loves being part of the Holylands community. We have the local community accessing our building through out the week from art groups to support groups and resident meetings. It’s hard to convey all the things City Church does within our local community. Here are just a few of the many initiatives we are involved in: Community Development Programme: Volunteers in Partnership (V.I.P). We are thrilled that NIGEL JENNINGS has started working in our community as a development worker. He is looking to increase the number of volunteers working in the community and helping to ease the tension inthe area by helping ethnic minority groups feel more included and welcome in the Holylands. Nigel can be contacte dta the church offices or via email:

Tag RugbyFrom May to July each year, City Church participates in an IRFU mixed sevens tag rugby . This is our 3rd season, and are now recruiting new team members! See Chris Murphy for info. We would love anyone to join our team, so please contact the office if you would like more information. Chris Murphy is the organiser of this team. Simon Community City Church has an ongoing commitment to this work and has supported Simon Community for many years. The charity works with the homeless and provides food and accommodation for those in need. Every month the church provides food to assist this work. Store HouseStorehouse is an initiative run by Vineyard church and provides food for anyone in need. As a church we support this great work financially and practically through one of our cells. Storehouse was excellent in bringing immediate relief to us during the Romanian crisis. Black and Gold/ Street ReachKindness in our community is something we value. Once a year we make an extra effort to connect with the residents in the Holylands by streetcleaning, bbq's, live music, visits to the elderly giving them window boxes and anything else which gets us showing the love of God. In the past we have visiting teams to help us over this special weekend and the atmosphere is one of real vibrancy and joy. Student OutreachDuring term time we have various outreach projects aimed towards students. From giving away free tea and coffee till the ‘wee hours’ of a Monday night, to opening up our café for a student study space. If you are a student, undergrad or postgrad, local or international, and you want to find out more about city church please email
